Continuity Planning - Our Offices

Continuity Planning - Reaching for the skies.

London

Our Head office is in London where we remain at the cutting edge of the business continuity and risk management industry. We are perfectly placed to maintain and develop our network of risk management experts and maintain dialogue with industry and Government. We are a member of the London Chamber of Commerce and are specifically active on the Defence and Security Committee.

The United Kingdom has taken the lead in developing business continuity legislation, specifically with the Civil Contingencies Act, 2004. While the full effect of the legislation has yet to be felt, it demonstrates that both the Government and industry realise the importance of business continuity planning and risk management strategies.

South East Asia

From our office in Manila’s Central Business District, Makati, Continuity Planning is able to operate effectively throughout the region. We are Members of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.

South East Asia is financially, politically, culturally and geographically diverse. This requires unique business continuity solutions which compliment the services we offer in Europe. Singapore is a world leader in developing business continuity legislation to enable its economy to operate more efficiently. Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok all offer unique business opportunities but with these opportunities comes significant risk. The region also hosts some of the most corrupt business environments in the world, weak political governance, lax rule of law and severe climatic conditions. These risks can often destroy profitable activities unless carefully managed.

Furthermore global and internal terrorism exists in many countries, presenting unique business planning and risk management challenges. Businesses operating in certain parts of the region including the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia can suffer from sabotage, malicious staff, extortion and direct attack. Understanding the environment within which the business operates and having effective strategies to manage these risks will enable businesses to maximise the competitive advantages that exist in the region.

Not only is Continuity Planning able to develop business continuity plans and risk management strategies, we can also audit the ability of suppliers to manage risk. This is particularly attractive for those businesses that outsource services to the region.

Chartered Management Institute survey of business disruption concerns.

  • Loss of IT, telecoms and fire remain the top concerns to organisations
  • There has been a notable rise in concern over loss of skills and people although these areas are often neglected in plans
  • Concern is higher across a broad range of threats, although is not matched by better Business Continuity Management
